DMI Ypsilanti Weekly Update 4/28/09

Howdy DMI Ypsilanti Employees!

1. Task 27 - Buy Out: Merge with or sell out your coworkers to earn Schrutebucks! Deadline is 3 AM ET Thursday, April 30th. You can earn up to 2000 Schrutebucks (yes, that's 3 zeros!) so if you've been trying to get a promotion this is the task for you. Be aware that it can take a long time to accumulate 2000 Sbs since you only earn them 5 or 10 at a time. If you want to get to 2000, you'll probably have to spend at LEAST 6-8 solid hours on this task. Don't let that intimidate you, just earn as much as you want. Check out the task thread in the branch forum for more info and hints on the game: http://boards.dundermifflininfinity.com/index.php?showtopic=32699

2. Mini Task 21- Which Episode?: Take a look at the five screenshots and figure out which season 5 episodes they're from. You'll earn 1 point for each photo you correctly identify. Here's the link: http://boards.dundermifflininfinity.com/index.php?showtopic=32986

That's all this week - don't forget to earn your Affinity Schrutebucks so you don't get laid off.

Task

This week's task is INSANE! I'm going crazy doing it. Try to pace yourself and remember:

Drink plenty of water

Eat 3 meals a day

Get 8 hours of sleep

Take a break every hour-or-so

Let's not have anyone die in front of their computer doing this task!

DMI Ypsilanti Weekly Update 4/21/09

Happy Tuesday, Ypsilanti employees!

Here's what's up at DMI this week:

1. Task 26 - Bobblehead Game: Earn up to 400 Sbs by playing a boxing bobblehead game. Be sure to practice before you play for Schrutebucks! There is no deadline. Find hints here.

2. Task 24 - There Oughta Be A Word Final Vote: Final vote is up for this task, tell us which word you liked best here.

3. Mini Task 20: Just for fun, not Schrutebucks. Check it out here.

And just an FYI - it looks like HR may have changed the rules to require that people earn some Affinity Schrutebucks every week to avoid being kicked out of their branch. Several people who have only earned Schrutebucks through tasks have found themselves removed from their branches. So be sure to earn Affinity Schrutebucks every week by uploading photos, leaving comments for coworkers, and posting in the forum!

Have an excellent week!

Time to pick up the pace

It seems that already our little blog has begun to slow down already! Let's pick it up and post more! There is a lot going on in The Office, come give your opinion on that. You can even just give updates on the happenings in Ypsi. Whatever, as long as it relates to "The Office", DMI, or Ypsilanti.

If you'd like to be an author, just send me your e-mail and I'll get you made an author. You must be a regular Ypsi employee and post at least once a month.

Can I get a "GO YPSI!"?

DMI Ypsilanti Weekly Update 4/14/09

Hello Ypsilanti Employees! Here's what's going on this week:

1. Task 25: Dream Team Soccer. This week's task is a soccer game. You can earn up to 400 Sbs but it will take some practice for you to get there. But good news, there is no deadline so you can practice as many times as you want before playing for Schrutebucks (which you can only do once). There are lots of hints and advice about the game in the Ypsilanti task thread (http://boards.dundermifflininfinity.com/index.php?showtopic=31808) and the main task thread (http://boards.dundermifflininfinity.com/index.php?showtopic=31811).

2. Task 24 Addictionary Branch Voting. Branch voting is open until 3 PM ET on Thursday. Vote for your favorite word! http://www.dundermifflininfinity.com/tasks2/branchvote?week=64

3. Mini Task 19: Caption a Photo from "Heavy Competition". Come up with a funny caption to go along with a photo from this week's episode of The Office. Just for fun and Beet points (no Schrutebucks). The deadline to submit a caption is Noon ET on Tuesday. http://boards.dundermifflininfinity.com/index.php?showtopic=32128

4. Finer Things Club News: Book club is reading "The Know It All", Movie Club is watching "Freedom Writers", Game Club is playing Ritris, a very addictive game like Tetris except you draw the shapes.

See you around the branch!

DMI Ypsilanti Weekly Update 4/7/09

Dear Ypsilanti Employees,

Lots to get to this week!

1. Our submission for Task 22 (25 Random Things) made it into the top 16. We can't vote for ourselves but you can let your friends and family know so they can vote if they want to. Let us know which of the other entries you voted for in the top 16 and you can earn 1 point for the Beet-tastic Forum Challenge.

2. Task 24: There Oughta Be A Word (deadline Noon ET on Thursday April 9th). Submit a word that fits one of the given definitions and earn 50 Schrutebucks. You can discuss this task in the forum here.

3. Mini Task 18: Episode Collage. Make a collage representing your favorite episode of The Office. This is just for fun, not Schrutebucks. The deadline will be Noon ET on Thursday (or if everyone needs more time I will extend it further).

4. Ypsilanti's Calendar. We've made our own Ypsi calendar from images submitted for the Calendar Task - it also includes the birthdays of many Ypsi employees and Office cast members. You can download it here (PDF file).

That's all for this week!

Top 25 Things

Ok so Ypsi made it into the Sweet 16 of the Top 25. Big surprise there LOL. I have read through the other entries and I have to say that it looks like our stiffest competition is Allentown. Their submission is great. It kinda sucks because we got our pictures taken out. What a time for OLC to actually pay attention to the submissions LOL. But I still think that Ypsi has a great chance at winning this. Here is a link to the voting page. It looks like the page is not randomized and Ypsi is #11 so I'm not sure people will go that far, and this may be a disadvantage because some of the entries are very lengthy. It also looks like a couple of the entries have made theirs into a game so please make sure to check them all out, because games are fun, and Ypsi loves fun. Well thats all for today. Don't forget to exercise your right to vote. And it looks like outsiders can vote as well so please tell your friends. If we win this one, we will have swept DMI 2.0 group tasks.

Party Planning Committee

Jen has starting a PPC for Ypsilanti. If you'd like to take part in the committee or give your opinions, head on into the branch forum, where she has a thread started on the matter.

Hi I'm JenW

So I'm not sure exactly what my plan is for this Blog. I will try and post in here at least once a week. I would love to be able to give you guys something that you can't get elsewhere so if you have any suggestions for me please let me know.

More DMI Downtime

Hey peeps, it looks like the problems with DMI going down are getting worse. Right now I can't get the homepage or the forum to load at all (which is odd because the forum is supposed to be on a different server than the homepage). If anyone is able to log in please post here and let us know.

April's Fool!

I can't seem to get into the forum. This is a cruel joke by OLC, if you ask me.

Is anyone else having trouble getting in? (Even if you aren't registered to Blogger, you should still be able to post a comment)

Finer Things Club

As King of the FTC, I'll try to give a report of the FTC every couple of weeks.

Our Grand Duke of Music, BigHairCut40, has been too busy lately for his duties as Grand Duke. There is an Archduchess, but she also has been too busy with the real world to work with the music division. I ask that until they return, everyone keeps the music division alive with discussions and commentary on the music world.

The movie club as also been slow, as the co-Grand Duchesses have been missing. These club aren't staying alive like they were when the FTC was formed. It needs the support of the members to stay alive!

I don't even know what's happening with the television division. It is hard to actually pick something to talk about. If you have discovered a new show or you're re-watching an old classic, try to stir up discussion in the TV division.

The book club has been doing great under the work of WinterStarzz. I honestly don't know what to say about the book club, so Starzz, if you have something you'd like to insert here, let me know.

The gaming club is the newest division of the FTC and has been very popular within it's first couple of weeks. This week's game requires a steady hand and a good eye, as you are an assign for the local mafia.

If you'd like to start a division of the FTC, let me know and we'll get one started. If you would like to help with an existing club, contact the Grand Duke/Duchess of that club. I'm sure they would love to have help.

Hi I'm Deb!

I'm an ATTRM at Ypsi (That's Assistant TO the Regional Manager for those who don't know).
I am "the funny one" I write humorous poetry, stories and parodies.
I have another blog where I made fun of Days Of Our Lives, until they became a parody of itself then there was just no point.

I will try to post at least once or twice a week with a funny observation about The Office, or something Ypsi related.
I hope I am able to give everyone a laugh, a chuckle or at the very least a smile.

Hello, I'm Clockwise

I'm Clockwise, the Regional Manager of Dunder Mifflin Ypsilanti. I plan to use this blog as another way to get information to you, the Ypsilanti employees! Reminders about task deadlines, voting, that sort of thing. We can also use it to show off some of the things we come up with in our branch forum - that way the whole world can know how creative the Ypsilanti branch is!

In my opinion, the best way for you to use this blog is to subscribe to it using the RSS feed. I use Google Reader to subscribe to RSS feeds and it's fantastic! What does it do? Well instead of getting up every morning and going to OfficeTally to see the latest Office news, then Amazon to see the daily deals, then to my favorite blogs to see if they've been updated, etc. etc., I just go to Google Reader and all the latest information and blog posts from my favorite sites are right there in one place! This is especially helpful for blogs that probably won't be updated every day (like this one) since you don't have to keep checking in to see if there's anything new.

I am subscribed to over 70 blogs and news sources using Google Reader - there's no way I could visit all of those websites everyday! But I only get about 20-40 posts sent to Reader each day from these sites and I can easily scroll through them, read the interesting ones and ignore the boring stuff.

Here's some information on how to use Google Reader and add subscriptions; if you don't have a Google account, MSN and Yahoo also have their own RSS readers (just do a search for "my MSN rss help" or "my Yahoo rss help").

Introductions

Over the next week, we'll be adding new authors to the blog, to give their incites on Ypsi, DMI, and The Office. As you join, make your first post to be an introduction of yourself, what you'll be writing about, and even a plan you might have for making the blog better and more efficient. I'll start.

Hello, I'm creator and first author of the blog and I'm so excited to see it get started! I will be writing mostly on breaking Ypsi and DMI news, like, if the forum/site is down, new tasks, and some general commentary on the general stupidity of the Corporate Forums. The only way this blog can be efficent and useful is if we all use it. I hope that soon there will be something new to read everyday and we will check it just as often as we do the forum.

Thanks to you for reading/writing the blog.

Welcome to Ypsilanti's Blog!

Here we will post different events, updates, and musings of DMI Ypsi! We can warn employees of forum outages, update everyone on task changes, post the courier here to save room in the forum, inform the masses about Finer Things Club events, create polls, give chat updates, and even host musings from different Ypsi employees.

The main idea is to keep Ypsi employees update with the RSS Feed and to save a little room in the branch forum.

The possibilities are endless*!

*Possibilities are subject to end
